All devices are fully tested for functionality where applicable. Cosmetic grading reflects external appearance only.
Grade A+ (BSI Kitemark Refurbished)
Grade A+ devices are refurbished by a supplier holding a valid licence from the British Standards Institution to use the BSI Kitemark in relation to their refurbishment process.
This means the refurbishment process has been independently assessed and certified under a BSI Kitemark scheme.
Certification applies to the refurbishment process carried out by the licensed supplier. TechSocial is a reseller of these devices and does not claim to hold the BSI Kitemark licence unless expressly stated.
What to Expect:
Grade A+ devices are ideal for customers seeking refurbished devices processed under independently audited quality standards.
Grade A – Excellent Condition
Grade A devices are professionally refurbished but are not supplied under a BSI Kitemark-certified process unless explicitly stated on the product listing.
What to Expect:
Grade A devices provide excellent value while maintaining strong cosmetic standards.
Grade B – Very Good Condition
Grade B devices offer strong value and full functionality with more visible cosmetic wear.
What to Expect:
Grade B devices are ideal for budget-conscious customers where cosmetic appearance is less important than performance.
Dell Outlet – Manufacturer Certified
Dell Outlet devices are manufacturer-certified products supplied directly through Dell’s outlet programme. These devices may include cancelled orders, overstock, or returned systems that have been inspected, tested and certified by Dell.
Dell Outlet devices are not graded under our A+/A/B refurbishment grading system, as they follow Dell’s own manufacturer standards.
What to Expect:
Warranty coverage and support terms are governed by Dell where manufacturer support is included.
Brand New – Factory Sealed
Brand New devices are unused products supplied in original manufacturer packaging unless otherwise stated.
These products are not refurbished or pre-owned and are not subject to cosmetic grading.
What to Expect:
New products are ideal for customers seeking unused hardware with full manufacturer-backed performance.
Functional Testing Standard
All refurbished and pre-owned grades undergo functional testing of major hardware components, including:
Testing confirms operational performance but does not imply new or unused condition.
Dell Outlet and Brand New devices are tested and certified by the manufacturer or authorised supplier before sale.
Cosmetic Condition Disclaimer
Cosmetic descriptions are intended as a general guide. As refurbished and outlet devices may have been previously handled or used, minor variations may occur within each grade or product type.
Signs of prior use consistent with the grade description do not constitute a fault.
Brand New products should arrive in unused condition unless otherwise disclosed.
Battery & Consumables
Rechargeable batteries are consumable components and naturally degrade over time.
For refurbished devices, battery health percentages refer to performance at time of testing only. Gradual reduction in capacity through normal use is not considered a defect.
For Dell Outlet and Brand New devices, battery coverage is subject to the applicable warranty terms stated in the product listing.
Screen Tolerance
Refurbished screens may contain minor pressure marks or a small number of non-impactful pixel imperfections consistent with industry refurbishment standards and the stated grade.
Such minor cosmetic imperfections do not affect functionality and do not constitute faults.
Dell Outlet and Brand New devices are subject to manufacturer display quality standards.
Certification Transparency
Only devices explicitly described as “BSI Kitemark Refurbished” are supplied via a BSI-licensed refurbishment process.
Devices graded A or B are not represented as BSI-certified unless expressly stated.
Dell Outlet products are certified under Dell’s own outlet programme and are separate from the BSI refurbishment scheme.
Brand New products are sold as new and are not part of any refurbishment programme.
